Free Hugs

The Free Hugs events are run by a team of Essex knitters and crocheters who make colourful blankets free of charge for the local community. During Loneliness Awareness Week, the ladies who live in Castle Point Essex host a stall at the local supermarket where we chat to shoppers about Loneliness and encourage them to think of someone in their life who might be feeling isolated and to gift them a blanket hug as a way to make a connection and start a conversation.
